Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) experienced a major resurgence, recording $912 million in net inflows on April 22—the highest daily inflow since January. This sharp uptick signals renewed investor confidence amid eased global trade tensions, following former President Trump's pledge to reduce Chinese import tariffs and his softened stance on Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. All markets have responded positively.
The influx of institutional investments have driven Bitcoin’s price past $94,000 on April 23rd, its highest level in nearly two months. However it has since retreated down to $92,500. Analysts suggest that the combination of strong ETF activity and institutional interest could accelerate Bitcoin’s traditional market cycle, potentially pushing prices to new highs before 2025 ends.
A weakening US dollar is further boosting Bitcoin’s appeal as a safe-haven asset. The US Dollar Index has fallen 9% in 2025, hitting its lowest point in three years. This decline, alongside rising gold prices, is positioning Bitcoin as a hedge against economic instability.
Experts note that Bitcoin is shedding its reputation as a tech-correlated asset and is increasingly viewed as a macroeconomic hedge, similar to gold. While Bitcoin’s resilience is being praised, some caution that ongoing recession fears could temper its upward momentum.
Meanwhile, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes suggested that Bitcoin may soon surpass $100,000, calling current price levels a potential “last chance” for buyers before another major rally, driven by anticipated US Treasury actions.
