Stripe has resumed support for USDC payments, allowing U.S. businesses to accept transactions in the stablecoin across Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon networks. This move simplifies crypto payments, letting merchants receive settlements in US dollars without handling digital assets directly.
After discontinuing Bitcoin payments in 2018 due to volatility and high fees, Stripe is now embracing USDC for its stability. The feature supports Stripe’s payment systems, offers zero dispute liability, and allows for one-click checkout. Transaction limits are set at $10,000 per transaction and $100,000 monthly.
Stripe aims to expand this service internationally, competing with companies like PayPal, which adopted crypto payments in 2021. The company plans to broaden its crypto offerings, including subscriptions and lending products tied to stablecoins.
